Hooray! Glad it was something as simple as the battery.

Just out of curiosity how did you confirm the old battery was bad and not just in need of a charge? The reason I ask is that a weak charging system can leave you with a low battery that would be perfectly fine if charged properly... You drove the car for an hour before the trouble started and that could partially deplete the battery if not charging properly without necessarily lighting the warning light on the dash

there is a neutral safety switch in system that could be problem. But, hope you already fixed whatever was problem problem.
