Our local Ford dealer has two 02's still in the showroom,a white and a black.I believe he said 6000 grand rebates on them....BUT they have one 03 on lot.It is a pale blue(non metallic) with the hardtop(same color)...41,000 plus a few.

This infor on a 02 not 03 but interesting

A used car lot has a 02 Blue t-bird, so called just for the H of
it to see how much. Said it was his car and would sell it
for $40,000 with 3,000 mile. His plan is to try and sell the
car to someone who can not get financing. Deal would be
5,000 down and finance it himself.

Said good luck, the Ford dealership just two blocks over still
has 4 02's in front. He said the Blue was very limited,
my reply was sorta true but over 7000 were made. I have
one with under 2,000 miles. But have a friend who is looking,
which is true, and if had looked like a good deal would forward
the information to him.

He might get it, great if he does, we are very knowledgeable
on this forum but they are a lot of folks out there that
don't have a clue what is going on.

Roush Racing has a Ford approved electronic calibration to uprate the horsepower to 280 H.P. I've heard it cost $400. You must take the car to them so they can do the download. Does not affect warranty, that's why it is labled Ford approved.

Greetings from Birthday Bird. I originally posted this thread back in January and see that it has been very popular (1762 views and 23 replies). Since then there has been a great deal of news about the T-bird and it's price etc. Our car was ordered because my wife and I both turn 50 this year. Black w/o a hardtop and partial white interior. The vehicle arrived at the dealership and it was a MESS. It had mis-aligned panels, a bad transmission and interior damage when delivered. The dealer still wanted $1700 off sticker and we declined the car. Two weeks later we stopped at another dealership. They had two 03's and 2 leftover 02's. Either 02 could be had for $6500 off sticker but we really wanted an 2003. When we explained that it was a mutual 50th Birthday present the dealership simply asked what they could do to sell us a car. My wife qualified for X plan which they extended plus we worked out some additional details, ending up with roughly $4900 off MSRP. List was $41,290.

For someone who generaly buys Red or Black we purchased Desert Sky Blue with the black accent interior package. Still can't believe it.

Black 01 LS
Black 95 T-Bird
Red 02 Ranger 4X4
Presidential Blue 68 Mustang - California Special "390"
Desert Sky Blue 03 T-Bird

Happy Birthday to us!

BIRTHDAY BIRD

Happy you got your new Bird, not the color you wanted, but a new 2003. 50 years young. Ha Ha We got our new 2003 red, red & full red for our 40th wedding anniversary in March. Got the car in Jan and will not take her out if it is cloudy, wet or too hot.
Hence only 550 miles since end of Jan. Our price was real good , but not as good as yours with 4900 off MSRP. We wanted
lite blue, white top and all white interior--- Well you know the FORD story as to availability of white inside. Got RED.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Midas .... Thank you for your reply. We wanted to purchase a T-Bird last year for our 30th but they were not dealing then. As an FYI, the partial white on the black one we ordered looked more cream in color. A solid white interior would look great with the blue but the upkeep is always a tuff one. But hey, if it's not an everyday driver it gives us something else to do, right?
I have a source where I may be able to secure another hardtop. I was thinking about painting it pearl white as the blue has the
pearl effect. As I indicated before, anything other than black or red is really stepping out of my box.

2003 vs 2004

Hello All - I'm new. I'm going to purchase a black t-bird for my mid-life crisis. Any tips on whether or not to wait for the 2004? I don't think I'll hold off that long, but if there is some new groovy thing, I might.

This is second-head info from a reliable source. I've heard there are three new exterior colors for 2004- Merlot (deep burgundy?), Mint Green (light pastel?), and Silver. These colors will replace the Grey, Blue and White. Also option for sand colored top and interior on some colors.
