Helpful hints:
1. You do have to removed the inside trim and the nuts from both side reveal parts even if you are just replacing the top one.
2. AND use a piece of tape in your deep socket to hold those nuts, or you WILL lose them inside the structure.
3. If you lose the nuts, the heads on standard nuts that fit the same thread require a larger socket - which WILL NOT fit into the tiny original holes for those side ones.
Ask me how I know................... :-|
I will be changing out my top chrome molding shortly, in anticipation of losing a nut in the A post, what substitute nut did you use? Ford manual shows 383365-s as the molding nut, but I can't find it anywhere. How did you resolve the socket width with your substitute nut?

Instead of tape in your deep socket try using a 3 to 6 inch extension with a magnet placed on the extension. The magnetic pull travels to the deep socket and keeps the nuts from falling out into the windsheild frame.

Interesting, will experiment with this concept. Thanks

Thank you it works, I need to find a stronger magnet, but my small magnet with an 8" extension can pick up steel screws/nuts Thanks Hank!
