Give me your 17 digit VIN, or the year and last five digits of your VIN, and I'll tell you how many cars were made like yours.

Hello Quickdraw

i purchased my 2003 T-bird in Dec 2018, and have yet to get it out out winter storage. my vin is 1FAHP60A33Y104228,

I know that it was a USA car that was brought to Canada a number of years ago. I would like to know the manufacture/sold date and how many of a production run. it has white and black interior and a white shift knob. would appreciate anything.

Hi, Quickdraw: Thanks so very much for this information. The info that I had did not show a Desert Sky Blue T-bird top option for my car so I thought maybe it had been painted, but apparently not. I am so happy to have this information, and I thank you again!

The SST is the approximate $100 option for Select Shift Transmission where you have the option to manually select the gears instead of the trans automatically advancing from first, to second, etc... The transmission is the same as yours - it's basically just a different gear selector and linkage.

Carfax and build sheet from 2005 show my car as "2005 50th Anniversary Cashmere Special Edition" but it does not have the commemorative plaque in the glove box. How can I authenticate the car and find it's number of 1500 made??

The numbered plaque on the glove box was applied more or less, but not exactly, in the order it was built.
This number was not officially recorded by Ford so it's not going to be possible to determine the exact number that was in the glovebox. I've heard of owners thinking this was the equivalent of the "inspected by #"
and they removed it. From your build date I can tell you that there were 109 Special Edition models built before 1/19/2005 and 24 built on 1/19/2005 so yours was somewhere between the 110th and the 133rd Cashmere built.

My wife and I are looking to purchase a 2002 - 2005 Thunderbird. I am leaning towards a 2005 since they are the 50th anniversary additions.
My question is, is there a specific year or color that is "more" rare than any of the others?
I found on another website that in 2005, there were only 82 Inca Gold birds produced.
Is that true?

That won’t be a cheap purchase most likely will have to pay way above kbb or nada value about three weeks ago I saw a plain old deluxe model that was pretty ragged and not taken care off guy was asking 21500 I honestly don’t think he will ever find a buyer. But good luck in your search they great cars I love mine and very rare to see them on the road which I love that there so unique every time I take mine out someone always comes up to me to talk about it or see it

If you can find a whisper white with the two toned leather and the premium package with hardtop that will up the rareness and the value of the car. Don’t have to be the whisper white but def find a premium edition with two tone leather with the hard top

Well I'm going to have to check her car out more thoroughly next time I am in Calif later this month as I am sure she told me she had the id plate in the glovebox and the 50th on the seats. I will have to keep you posted on that.

As far as the chrome hood scoop bezel, yes I would like the order number so I can get one. Are they difficult to put on the car? I understand you have to take the hood liner out of the underside of the hood to get to it.

Thank you so much for your research in all this, you are like a Tbird encyclopedia!! And I am exstatic to know that I did not end up with some kind of aftermarket sales pitch on my baby. Even so, no matter how it would have turned out, I paid about $12k less than my cousin did back in May 05!
I'll keep you posted.
Did you ever get the part number for the chrome hood scoop I would like to get one for my 03

Tbird Harley 03, There were two part numbers for the chrome hood scoop, one for the 2002 Neiman Marcus and a different part number for the 2002 Cashmere Special Edition. While any Ford parts department should be able to get the you numbers unfortunately it will not do you any good as they have been unavailable for years. What the Tbird community needs is for someone to find a shop that can chrome plate our original plastic hood scoops.

IMHO, rareness doesn't seem to have much impact on actual selling price. Mileage and condition are much greater factors. There were 107 retrobirds that were one of a kind - the year, color and combination of options were completely unique. Then there were 136 where only two each were made, and 198 where there were only 3 were made. And there were 1,902 where the year, color, and options were such that 10 or less were produced. A person could make a strong argument that these cars are "rare" because no one wanted them. It's going to be hard enough to find a color you like in the condition and at the price you want to pay - don't make it harder on yourself, buy what you like.

Here is the VIN for our 02 Tbird: 1FAHP60A12Y117056 - Can you tell me how many were built and anything else about the car? Interested to know.
